Travel & Transportation

Note: On May 1, Interstate 40 in downtown Knoxville closed to through traffic due to construction. However, students, faculty, staff and visitors traveling to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will still have access to several exits that lead to campus. { Learn more about the closure and download a map of alternate routes. }

Special parking and shuttle arrangements will be provided to support the college ceremonies and hoodings scheduled on May 7, 8 and 9. Graduates and their guests may park for free in university student parking areas throughout the campus. For more detailed parking information, visit http://web.utk.edu/~pso/.

The 11th Street and White Avenue Garages provide close proximity parking for events scheduled in the Knoxville Convention Center. A special area will be reserved for handicapped parking in the 11th Street Garage.

Kickoff to Commencement

Parking for Kickoff to Commencement is available in all commuter and non-commuter lots for students and guests. Special needs parking is available in Staff Lot 23 located directly behind the Clarence Brown Theatre.
