Parking & Transportation

For ceremonies scheduled in Thompson-Boling Arena or other campus locations, graduates and their guests may park for free in the G-10 garage on Phillip Fulmer Drive, or any C (commuter) or N (non-commuter) lot on campus. Handicap parking spaces are available in the G-10 Parking Garage.

For more detailed parking information, visit

Due to the high number of guests expected to attend the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony, FREE bus transportation will be available from the Agriculture Campus CFN1 parking lot and the G-7 Parking Garage located at the corner of Volunteer Blvd and Andy Holt Avenue. Shuttles will run from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and again from 11:00 a.m. until the arena is empty. This service is only available on Friday, May 8, 2009.

Note: Road work on a portion of Neyland Drive has reduced traffic to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound between Leinard Lane and Lake Loudon Boulevard. Access to UT facilities on Leinard Lane and Stephenson Drive and campus entrances at Joe Johnson Drive and Lake Loudon Boulevard will remain open as the work is under way.

Due to construction on Neyland Stadium, a large portion of Phillip Fulmer Way is also closed.  This main thoroughfare to Thompson Boling Arena from the north side of campus is closed just past the stadium.

The closure also affects the east end of Peyton Manning Pass and the intersection of Peyton Manning Pass and Phillip Fulmer Way.

For those traveling from the north side of campus, take Volunteer Boulevard to Lake Loudoun to access the Thompson Boling Arena.

Visitors who park on the north side of campus can walk to the Arena by traveling down Volunteer Boulevard and through Circle Park.  People also can walk through the alley parallel to Staff Lot 9, which runs along Phillip Fulmer Drive in front of the stadium, or cross the north corner of Staff Lot 30 (in back of the Communications Building) near the Hearing and Speech Center.  Stairs near the Hearing and Speech Center lead to the parking lot (also Staff Lot 30) adjacent to Thompson Boling Arena.
