This site explains the purpose and function of what has become affectionately known as "the template." It is intended to be used by departments, colleges, and units at the University of Tennessee Knoxville only. Although it obviously draws on elements of utk.edu homepage, the template design is distinguished from that site in subtle but deliberate ways. We encourage your freedom and creativity in the layout of your main content area; however, for the purposes of branding, we ask that you please not mimic too closely the UT Knoxville homepage.
