Art Lecture: Barbara MacAdam
Barbara MacAdam is deputy editor of ARTnews, where she has worked since 1987. She has also served as executive editor of Art + Auction and was an editor at Review: Latin American Literature and Arts and New York magazine. She has written on design for ID magazine, reviewed books on art and literature for the LA Times Book Review, Newsday, and The New York Times Book Review. She is a board member of the Internation Art Critics Association and of the Arts Arena of the University of Paris and has curated numerous national exhibitions.
Barbara is lecturing in conjunction with the Pencil Pushed exhibition currently at the Ewing and UT Downtown Galleries. She is the author of the scholarly essay included in the exhibition catalogue. Pencil Pushed focuses on the fundamental role of drawing in thinking about art and perception.
There will be a reception immediately following the lecture in the Ewing Gallery.
