part of our programming for our new exhibition, Zen Buddhism and the Arts of Japan (September 15, 2012 – December 31, 2012), exhibition curator Megan Bryson of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Religious Studies Department will lead an ikebana flower arranging and a Zen Tea Ceremony at the museum.

The ikebana demonstration will begin at 1:30 pm, and the Zen Tea ceremony will begin at 3:30 pm.

Megan Bryson studies Chinese religions, with an emphasis on Buddhism and local religion in Southwest China. Her research interests include issues of ethnicity and gender in Chinese religions, women in Buddhism, and Buddhist ritual.

The McClung Museum is a general museum with collections in anthropology, archaeology, decorative arts, local history, and natural history. Admission is free.

Parking: On weekends, parking is available on Circle Park and adjacent parking lots.
