Walter Purdy, J.D. of the Terrorism Research Center in Washington D.C. will present "Terrorism in a Changing World," a public lecture at the UT College of Law (Room 132) on March 15th, 3:00pm.
The threat of terrorism continues to evolve in our changing world. Democratic elections, economic issues and social pressures have created numerous challenges and shifts in attitudes and policies on terrorism. The speed of global events often creates complex dilemmas for decision makers worldwide confronting terrorist activity. During this interactive presentation participants will explore:
- Terrorism in the Twenty-First Century
- The Changing Face of Global Terrorism
- Terrorism and the Media
- Terrorism and Technology
- Successes and the Challenges Ahead
Mr. Purdy has had a distinguished career and completed extensive missions in the Middle East and Asia for the US Department of State and US Department of Justice. He has consulted internationally on projects related to terrorism threat reduction, and developed and delivered highly specialized training to law enforcement and the intelligence community. He is currently the Director of the Terrorism Research Center in Washington, D.C.
