Art Lecture: Barbara MacAdam

Barbara MacAdam is deputy editor ofARTnews, where she has worked since 1987. She has also served as executive editor ofArt + Auction and was an editor atReview: Latin American Literature and Arts andNew York magazine. She has written on design forID magazine, reviewed books on art and literature for theLA Times Book Review, Newsday,andThe New York Times Book Review.She is a board member of the Internation Art Critics Association and of the Arts Arena of the University of Paris and has curated numerous national exhibitions.

Barbara is lecturing in conjunction with thePencil Pushed exhibition currently at the Ewing and UT Downtown Galleries. She is the author of the scholarly essay included in the exhibition catalogue.Pencil Pushed focuses on the fundamental role of drawing in thinking about art and perception.

There will be a reception immediately following the lecture in the Ewing Gallery.
