The Reunion of Body and Soul: Sacred Sexuality and Resurrection in the Netherworld

The East Tennessee Society of the Archaeological Institute of American and the McClung Museum present Lanny Bell of Brown University, lecturing on: "The Reunion of Body and Soul: Sacred Sexuality and Resurrection in the Netherworld." The event will be held in the McClung Museum Auditorium

Professor Bell has taught courses in Egyptology since 1965; his courses over the years have included language classes in Old, Middle and Late Egyptian, as well as Coptic; literature in translation; art, architecture and archaeology; culture and history; and epigraphy. He has been extremely active in Egypt; conducting seventeen seasons of fieldwork in Luxor since 1967 and leading 26 tours since 1973.

The McClung Museum is a general museum with collections in anthropology, archaeology, decorative arts, local history, and natural history. Admission is free.

Parking: During the week, parking passes for the Museum at Circle Park are available at the Campus Information Center, located just north of the Museum at the entrance to Circle Park (see UTK campus map). Visitors should tell the attendant that they are visiting the McClung Museum, and request a 2-hour permit.

On weekends, parking is available on Circle Park and adjacent parking lots.
