Abstract:

This presentation will provide a brief primer on probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) followed by a discussion of how PRA is used at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  The presentation will also cover some of the recent initiatives at the NRC that involve the use of PRA information, such as the response to the Fukushima Lessons Learned, the State of the Art Reactor Consequence Analysis study, and a newly proposed regulatory framework.
