Lecture: The Buddhist Worldview and Its Relation to Practice

In concert with our exhibit, Zen Buddhism and the Arts of Japan, Ajahn Punnadhammo, a Canadian monk of the Thai Forest Tradition, will give a talk on the Buddhist worldview and its relation to practice. The presentation will include a discussion of Buddhist art and the Buddhist view of impermanence--from the highest bliss states to the realms of deepest suffering.

This talk is organized by Losel Shedrup Ling of Knoxville (www.lslk.org), the University of Tennessee History Department, and the McClung Museum.

Punnadhammo is currently the resident monk at Arrow River Forest Hermitage. For more information on Ajahn Punnadhammo, please visit www.arrowriver.ca.

The McClung Museum is a general museum with collections in anthropology, archaeology, decorative arts, local history, and natural history.

Parking: During the week, parking passes for Circle Park are available at the Campus Information Center, located just north of the Museum at the entrance to Circle Park (see UTK campus map). Visitors should tell the attendant that they are visiting the McClung Museum, and request a 2-hour permit.
