Nationally Competitive Scholarship and Fellowship Opportunities Information Session for MFL&L Students

Presented by: Dr Michael Handelsman, Professor and Director of the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships (ONSF), and Nichole Fazio-Veigel, Assistant Director of the ONSF
Join us for an informative session on scholarships, fellowships, and experiential learning opportunities relevant to students studying Modern Foreign Languages and Literature at UT. These opportunities include the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Critical Language Scholarship, the Boren Scholarship and Fellowship, and the Rangel International Graduate Fellowship program in International Affairs. This session includes guidance on starting the search for national funding opportunities and determining the best 'fit' of an opportunity based on your own academic endeavors. In addition to specific details about the relevant programs, the session will also include an introduction to the critical components of these kinds of applications including the curriculum vitae (CV), personal statement, research proposal, and asking for strong letters of recommendation.
