Virgil's Salian Hymn to Hercules


The annual Rutledge Memorial Lecture in Classics, given by John F. Miller, Arthur and Marion Stocker Professor of Classics and long time chair of the Classics Department, University of Virginia.

John Miller's penultimate book, "Apollo, Augustus, and the Poets" (Cambridge, 2009) received the Goodwin Award of Merit from the American Philological Association as the best scholarly book in Classics in the previous three years.

A reception will follow in the same venue.

Free and open to the public.
