Sankofa African-American Museum on Wheels

The Black Cultural Programming Committee (BCPC) presents: The Sankofa African-American Museum

The Sankofa African-American museum is a collection of African American artifacts, pictures, writings, and other relics taking the audience on a journey through history from 1860 to the present. It tells the stories of many African-Americans who have impacted not only this history of blacks, but American history as a whole. Many, such as MLK and the Tuskegee Airmen are known, but the unique part about this experience is the learning factor; many of those featured are not well-known. Ms. Angela Jennings, curator, will be in attendance throughout the exhibit to lead tours and answer questions. A thought-provoking lecture, guided tour and dramatic piece will take place on opening night, February 19, 2013 at 7:00 PM. A reception will follow.
