The VADSCO committee and the UT School of Art are pleased to host Dr. Katy Siegel's upcoming visit to the UT campus. On March 14 Siegel will give a public lecture entitled: "Double Positive: Contemporary Painting."
Katy Siegel is a professor of art history at Hunter College, CUNY, editor in chief of Art Journal, and a contributing editor to Artforum. She has written extensively on modern and contemporary art; her recent essays have focused on the changing nature of studios and art school, and the work of Mark Bradford. She was the curator of High Times, Hard Times: New York Painting, 1967-1975. Her books include Since '45: America and the Making of Contemporary Art (Reaktion: 2011) and Abstract Expressionism (Phaidon: 2011).
