Free Range Video Contest Screening
The Studio is pleased to announce our Seventh Annual Free Range Video Contest to be held during the Spring Semester 2013. This year's theme is "The Compelling Real".
Near the turn of the century, Scottish filmmaker John Grierson defined the documentary as "the creative interpretation of actuality." For the Compelling Real, we recognize documentaries as inventive representations of actual people, places, groups and events presenting facts with little or no fictional additions. Participants are encouraged to explore this theme by sharing documentaries they've created with us.
The contest is open to all UT Knoxville students, faculty and staff. The screening will be a festival to view the entries to the contest, and award prizes to the winners. The festival is open to the public, and we invite all who are interested to come and join us.
