CAMPCOMM Workshop: Using the Campus Calendar

By far the best way to reach the campus community with your event or program announcement is through the UT Events Calendar. The calendar is the official repository of activities on campus and is sometimes viewed thousands of times in a day.

On Wednesday, March 27, at 3:00 p.m., staff from the Office of Communications and Marketing will host a workshop on how to use the UT calendar to promote your event. The one-hour session will meet in Room 402 of the Haslam Business Building. No reservation is required, but seating is limited.

The following topics will be covered during the workshop:

How to submit events:

• Submission guidelines

• Sign in to manage your events

• Submit your event (event registration; search for location)

• Have your event appear in your custom RSS feed

• Request to have your event appear on the Tennessee Today website and in the Tennessee Today e-mail

How to use event tools:

• Embed an RSS feed on a website

• Create your own RSS feed

• Request your own RSS feed

How to use the public-facing calendar:

• Browse by day, week, month

• Browse popular events, featured events, newest events

• Search on home page and use the advanced search
