University Women's Club Afternoon Tea Reception
All University Women Are Invited
The University Women's Club of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville cordially invites you to an Afternoon Tea Reception on Friday, September 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the UT Visitor's Center at Neyland Drive at Kingston Pike. Light refreshments will be served.
R.S.V.P. by September 4: Therese Leadbetter, telhome46@aol.com or 865-690-0445.
The University Women's Club (UWC) was founded in 1912 by Mrs. Brown Ayres, wife of UT's twelfth president. Her goal was to help women get to know each other better and to promote friendship and community among women faculty, especially newcomers to the University.
As the University has expanded its mission, the UWC has also broadened its scope over the years. It's our mission to continue to be a viable and relevant organization to include all women associated with the University, including faculty, staff, and wives of faculty and staff.
We meet the second Friday of October, November, February, and March for lunch and relevant presentations by stimulating guest speakers from the University and the Knoxville Community. In addition to our scheduled meetings, we will host a Holiday Reception and Spring Luncheon.
Besides listening to excellent speakers at the meetings, there are also opportunities to join special interest groups that are affiliated with UWC (Book Review/day & evening; Duplicate Bridge; International Dinner Group; Gourmet Luncheons; Swimming; Travelogue/day & evening; and University Women Investors).
