The Weakening of Autonomous Organization and the Return of Indigenismo Under the Citizens' Revolution in Ecuador
Carmen Martinez, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Director of Latin American Studies at the University of Kentucky, will be giving a talk titled "The Weakening of Autonomous Organization and the Return of Indigenismo Under the Citizenss Revolution in Ecuador." Professor Martinez studies indigenous identities, indigenism, and the relations of indigenous peoples with their non-indigenous allies with a regional focus on Latin America. Martinez earned her PhD from the New School and lived and conducted extensive research in Ecuador before joining the faculty at the University of Kentucky. This event is sponsored by the UTK Latin American and Caribbean studies program.
