Cancer is a disease that touches many of us, but it's not just a human disease. Dogs get cancer at roughly the same rate as humans. Cancer is the leading cause of death in older dogs and is responsible for nearly 50% of the deaths of dogs 10 years and older. PetSafe is holding the third K9 Cancer Walk later this month. Proceeds from the event will help the Morris Animal Foundation and their effort to help dogs lead longer, healthier, cancer-free lives. One of our board-certified veterinary radiation oncologists was on WBIR to talk about the walk. Click here to watch the video.
All dog lovers are invited to join Team UTCVM for the PetSafe K9 Cancer Walk. Walk with your dog or walk in memory of a beloved pet. The event will be held Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Cove at Concord Park. The opening ceremony and walk begin at 1:00 p.m.
Click here to register as a member of Team UTCVM. After registering, send an email with your t-shirt size to Stephanie Denton. (The artwork is at the top of this page). We look forward to meeting you at the event, but you can also be a "virtual" walker.
