MATLAB 1 (Basics)

MATLAB is the most popular software for solving problems in matrix algebra, and Octave is a free, open source program that runs many MATLAB programs. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basic features of MATLAB, its programming language, data input/output, and simple visualization. MATLAB is currently free to faculty, staff and students. MATLAB download instructions are at http://oit.utk.edu/software. Octave is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/ . Participants should be familiar with basic programming concepts.
