You will create a simple database and execute SQL commands and we will provide a few basic scripting interfaces which the participants will utilize and do some simple edits in the class to get output. SQLite is easy to install and does not need a dedicated server. From the SQLite website: "SQLite is a software library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine. SQLite is the most widely deployed SQL database engine in the world. The source code for SQLite is in the public domain." Some well-known users of SQLite include Adobe, Apple, Firefox, GE, Google, McAfee, Microsoft, PHP, SKYPE, SUN, and Toshiba.
