Sigma Tau Delta Celebrates National Novel Writing Month

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor society looking for volunteers to help write a novel... IN A DAY. To celebrate National Novel Writing Month, Sigma Tau Delta invites everyone to join them on Tuesday, November 12 from 12:00-4:00pm, at Humanities Plaza, to share their favorite lines from their favorite books and partake in writing an "exquisite corpse."  An "exquisite corpse" takes its name from a parlor game popular with the Surrealists and is a type of communal writing where individuals each contribute a line to create the work.

National Novel Writing Month (known popularlly as NaNoWriMo) is a fun, "seat-of-your-pants" approach to creative writing. Every year on November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 p.m. on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought fleetingly about writing a novel.
