LGBTQ Advocacy 101 at Hodges Library room 211

Tennessee Equality Project, a state organization that supports equal rights for LGBTQ people, is holding a training to teach students how to advocate for social justice issues.

Advocacy 101 includes:

Advocacy Vs. Lobbying
You as an Advocate
Orientation to the TN General Assembly
LGBT Issues and the legislative Process
Researching and Tracking Bills
Sources of Information about the General Assembly
Meeting with elected officials
Protocol for contacting lawmakers
