'Empowering Women through Sports' Public Policy Panel Discussion


Interested in what women's empowerment through sports looks like around the world?

Join us on April 3rd for a panel discussion with Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan and 24 female athletes from every region of the world who are participants in a U.S. Department of State sports visitors exchange program! Hear the stories of basketball players and coaches as they speak to women's empowerment and sport systems in Argentina, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Nigeria, South Korea, and Turkey.

The discussion will also include remarks from the following esteemed guests:

  • Mayor Madeline Rogero, City of Knoxville
  • Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek, University of Tennessee
  • Dean Bob Rider, College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
