Lecture on Refugees in World War II


On Monday, April 7, at 3:45pm in the Hodges Library 6th Floor Conference Room (Room 605), Dr. Janis Chakars will give a lecture entitled "Merry Christmas! Our Homeland is Ablaze!: Latvian Refugee Experiences and a Book for Kids in World War II". Dr. Chakars is assistant professor and chair of Language, Literature, and Fine Arts at Gwynedd Mercy University, and he earned his PhD in mass communication at Indiana University. The event is hosted by the UT Center for the Study of War and Society, and funded by the UT Humanities Initiative.
