Faculty Pub Featuring 'THE Accidentals'

Please make plans to join us for Faculty Pub on Thursday, April 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bridgeview Grill on the third floor of the UT boathouse on Neyland Drive.

Please join us for free appetizers, a cash bar, and a wonderful opportunity to interact with your fellow faculty.  We hope the Faculty Pub will continue to provide a relaxed environment for faculty and administrators to gather. Parking will be available in the C-14 lot across from the boathouse building.

Entertainment will be provided by THE Accidentals. THE Accidentals began playing music together in 2009. Since then, they have performed at events all around Knoxville including the Dogwood Arts Festival, First Friday at the Art Market, Union Avenue Books and the MCC Knoxville Pride Picnic.

In musical notation, 'accidentals' are those little notes that aren't in the same scale as the rest of the song--notes that surprise and delight the ear for just a moment before resolving into harmony.  They aim to be like that… a little unpredictable, a lot of fun, and, ultimately, harmonizing in ways that will make you want to hear more. In six voices with acoustic accompaniment, they cover songs ranging from Leonard Cohen through the Everly Brothers to the Bobs, with lots more in between. See them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheAccidentalsTennessee.

Those interested in performing at one of the open Faculty Pub dates, should contact Melanie Finnegan, (msfinnegan@utk.edu) 974-6152, for more information.

We appreciate Aramark's assistance with this venture, and we look forward to seeing you at the Pub.
