Vol Vision is the road map for achieving our goal of becoming a Top 25 public research university. The Vol Vision 2015: Pursuit of the Top 25 plan provides the guiding framework for the university to achieve its potential among the nation’s preeminent research universities.
Vol Vision outlines our strategic priorities and focuses our efforts, activities, and decisions around a common vision for the university and its future.
By identifying our top priorities and metrics for success, we can realize our long-term goals and strengthen UT for the benefit of our campus community, Tennesseans, and the world.
Our campus should be welcoming to all and hostile to none. During the past year, we launched a new initiative to make our campus a more welcoming place.
We invite you to learn more about our Principles for Civility and Community and the opportunities for you to help make UT an even better place to learn, study, live, and work.
We are one campus, one community. Join us in celebrating the differences.
Our faculty, staff, and students know that the smallest changes in energy use can lead to big differences in greening the operations of a large university. Our Switch Your Thinking campaign celebrates these changes by highlighting members of our community who are taking the initiative to reduce their personal energy consumption on campus by minimizing high-powered machines during peak times or taking advantage of the university’s supply of electric bicycles.
Another sustainability campaign, Make Orange Green, puts students at the forefront of promoting environmental stewardship through RecycleMania, Earth Month events, and sustainability leadership programs.
Students who gain an appreciation for different places, people, and customs graduate from UT with the edge they need to thrive in a global, ever-changing economy.
We focus on learning about the world around us but recognize the need for broadening perspectives about the cultural and societal differences in our own community.
Ready for the World is part of a long-range plan to transform the campus into a culture of diversity that best prepares students for working, competing, and leading in the twenty-first century.
