Ready for the World Café diners will continue their tasty travels through the Far East on Thursday, March 15, with a taste of Korea. The lunch will include a sweet potato and noodle appetizer, butternut squash soup, and entrée options of top sirloin, potato, and eggplant dishes. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to be a part of the "Self Evident Truths" project by attending a lecture and reception and by also being photographed by the artist on March 12 and March 13. The project focuses on photographing anyone who feels that they fall within the LGBTQ spectrum as a way to “humanize the varied face of gays in America today.
Artist iO Tillet Wright will bring her "Self Evident Truths" project to Knoxville March 11–13 as part of a two-week tour of eleven cities. As part of her visit, she will be speaking on campus and photographing people to be part of her project.
When Jayanni Webster teamed up with fellow seniors Abbey Schaplowsky and Corie Fine on a social work class project, they had no clue their ideas would turn into a university-funded diversity program. The culmination of their efforts is "Dialogue: A Conversation on Race and Religion at UT," a film screening and panel discussion to be held at 6:00 p.m. on March 6 in the Black Cultural Center.
