student@tennessee is an electronic publication collected, edited and distributed by the Office of Student Affairs with assistance from the Office of Public Relations for the benefit of undergraduate and graduate students. student@tennessee welcomes submissions from students, faculty and staff regarding upcoming events, honors and other news.
All students are eligible to receive and are encouraged to contribute to student@tennessee.
Information in student@tennessee is sent to subscribers via e-mail and posted here. To subscribe, follow the instructions online.
The publication schedule is weekly, usually by 10 a.m. ET Monday during the academic semester. student@tennessee publication is suspended during the summer and when classes are not in session.
All events listed in student@tennessee must be geared primarily to students and be sponsored by university faculty, staff, students, academic departments, administrative units, or university-recognized clubs or interest groups. The event must be open to all UT students.
Event submissions must include: type of event, location (building and room number), date and time, name of UT groups or academic units sponsoring the event, contact name, phone number and e-mail address and any associated Web site URLs.
Fundraising events/activities of university clubs or interest groups will be included if they benefit a third party philanthropy or address a program or need that impacts/affects the entire student population, not just the club or interest group.
To submit an item, e-mail it to student@tennessee editor, Michael Jones, at student.attn@tennessee.edu.
Event submissions must be received by 2 p.m. ET Thursday to be considered for inclusion in the following Monday edition of the newsletter. Submissions received more than one month in advance of the event may be held until the event is one month away, then included in one or more editions of student@tennessee, at the discretion of the editor.
It is the responsibility of the item contributor to notify the student@tennessee editor if any pertinent detail changes after the first publication of that item, so it will be corrected in the subsequent edition of student@tennessee.
The editor reserves the right to edit all listings for space and content considerations.
