UT’s Phillips Heads National Personnel Group

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Sara Phillips, University of Tennessee assistant vice president, is president-elect of the College and University Personnel Association.

Phillips, who heads personnel services for the UT system, will serve a three-year term — first as president-elect, then one year as national president and a third as past-president. She was elected by the CUPA board of directors.

CUPA is the national organization for higher education personnel professionals.

In addition to serving as a CUPA director, Phillips has been chair of the organization’s Southern region, serving on the board of directors for seven years. She has also been a member of the national professional development advisory board and the national conference planning committee.

Phillips earned the master of science in college student personnel from UT-Knoxville and the bachelor of arts from Penn State.
