Four Recommended for UT-Chattanooga Position (140)
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Four candidates for chancellor of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga were recommended Wednesday to UT President Joe Johnson by an advisory search committee.
Recommended by the committee were the following individuals:
– Peggy Elliott, senior fellow with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C.
– Dwayne McCay, vice president of the UT Space Institute in Tullahoma.
– Bill Stacy, founding president of California State University in San Marcos.
– Bill Troutt, president of Belmont University in Nashville.
Homer Fisher, UT senior vice president and chair of the advisory committee, said Johnson may make a decision by the next meeting of the UT Board of Trustees, scheduled for June 19 in Knoxville.
UT-Chattanooga Chancellor Fred Obear is stepping aside after 16 years in the post. He plans to take a leave of absence and then return to UT-Chattanooga.
