KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Dr. Keith Stanga of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville has been elected president of the Administrators of Accounting Programs Group of the American Accounting Association.

Stanga, head of the UT-Knoxville department of accounting and business law, previously was AAPG vice president for accreditation.

”I am pleased to have the opportunity to take a leadership role among accounting department administrators nationwide,” Stanga said. ”This position will help me learn about best practices at other universities and to share with others some of the things we are doing at UT-Knoxville.”

The administrators group has about 290 members. Stanga will serve as president-elect during the 1998-99 academic year and as president during 1999-2000.

The group’s mission is excellence in accounting education through outstanding leadership of accounting programs.
