KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two committees of the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees have scheduled telephone conference call meetings Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Beauchamp Brogan, UT general counsel and secretary to the board, said the trustees’ subcommittee on honorary degrees is set to meet at 10 a.m. in a call originating from the President’s Office, 831 Andy Holt Tower.

The trustees’ Presidential Search Committee is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m. in a call originating from the General Counsel’s Office, 721 Andy Holt Tower, Brogan said.

On the search committee’s agenda is a decision on hiring a search firm to help identify possible candidates to succeed retiring UT President Joe Johnson.

The subcommittee on honorary degrees is meeting to discuss UT’s past policies on the awards and whether opportunities could be created for the university by resuming the practice.
