KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The committee identifying candidates for the presidency of the University of Tennessee will meet Dec. 14 in Knoxville.

Bill Sansom, vice chairman of the UT board of trustees and chairman of the committee, has scheduled the meeting for 10 a.m. in the board room of Andy Holt Tower.

Beauchamp Brogan, UT general counsel and board secretary, said the committee will consider a plan for attracting African-American candidates and the job description for the presidency.

UT President Joe Johnson has announced he will retire June 30, 1999.
