Knoxville, Tenn. — The UT Law College library was named in honor of Joel A. Katz, one of the college’s most successful graduates.

“Katz has a very high profile,” said UT Law College Dean Thomas Galligan. “He has represented entertainers like Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Buffett and James Brown, and has represented the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. Katz is an incredibly prominent, active person,” Galligan said.

Katz gave $100,000 to establish a scholarship endowment fund in his family’s name.

Speakers at the ceremony included UT President J. Wade Gilley, UT-Knoxville Chancellor William Snyder and U.S. Senator Fred Thompson.
