UT-Battelle Wins Lab Management Contract

The U.S. Department of Energy announced Wednesday that UT-Battelle will assume responsibility for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on April 1, 2000. The five-year contract is worth $2.5 billion. ORNL has 4,500 staff and scientists. UT-Battelle, LLC is a partnership between The University of Tennessee and Battelle Memorial Institute.
