KNOXVILLE — Streets adjacent to Neyland Stadium will close to traffic at 3 p.m. Saturday, 30 minutes before the kick off of the UT-Vanderbilt game.

The closure of Phillip Fulmer Way from Middle Drive to Tee Martin Drive, Peyton Manning Pass, Middle and Lower drives and Estabrook Drive is part of the university’s security plan for home football games. These streets will not reopen until the game is over.

Philip Scheurer, UT vice president for operations, said other security, traffic and parking procedures used at previous home games this season will be in effect. Large parcels such as backpacks are not permitted inside the stadium, and no items can be stored or left at the gate, he said.

All parcels, including purses, are subject to search by stadium personnel and police officers, he said.

Airspace restrictions around the stadium again will be in effect, and solicitation near the gates is prohibited.

Items permitted in the stadium include stadium seats without arms, cushions, binoculars, small cameras, pagers, cell phones, radio headsets and diaper bags that accompany an infant. Purses and other parcels are subject to being searched.
