SPRING HILL — The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation have teamed together to establish a Center for Profitable Agriculture.

Under the terms of a Memorandum of Agreement, the UT Agricultural Extension Service will provide the staffing for the new center, while the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation will provide financial support and technical expertise, including legal assistance, business analysis, and tax information. The new center will be housed on the grounds of the UT Middle Tennessee Experiment Station in Spring Hill. The Experiment Station will cover utility and maintenance costs for the center’s operation.

Dr. Charles Norman, UT dean of Extension, says the new center is an outstanding opportunity for enhanced service to the state-s agricultural community. “Our partnership with the Tennessee Farm Bureau will inject new resources into our already successful Agricultural Development Center,” Norman said.
