KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Security measures will be in effect Saturday for the final home football game of the season as the University of Tennessee Volunteers host the Wildcats of the University of Kentucky.

“Our normal security measures are in place, as they have been all season,” Philip Scheurer, vice president of operations, said Tuesday.

Backpacks and other large items are not allowed inside the gates at Neyland Stadium, Scheurer said.

Items that are allowed in the stadium include cell phones, small radios with headsets, seat cushions without armrests, and infant diaper bags accompanied by an infant.

In the event of inclement weather, umbrellas will be allowed inside the gates but cannot be opened in the concourse area or stands.

All items are subject to search.

The results of the annual Blue/Orange Medic blood drive will be announced during the game. Each year students, employees and fans of Tennessee and Kentucky compete to see which side can donate the most pints of blood.

Public access to the stadium begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. The traditional Vol Walk to the stadium starts at 10:15 a.m. The Pride of the Southland marching band departs from the music building at 10:50 a.m.

Knoxville Area Transit will offer public parking with shuttle-bus service at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum parking garage.

Streets around Neyland Stadium will be closed 30 minutes before kickoff, with directional traffic flows before and after the game.

Jefferson Pilot and ComCast Cablevision will televise the game.
