KNOXVILLE — As Spring semester begins on the University of Tennessee campus, students, faculty and staff will see several important construction projects moving forward. Renovations of Glocker Business Administration Building and Neyland Stadium, and construction of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy are all under way.

These projects will make the UT campus more beautiful, boost its academic offerings and improve its administrative services. However, for awhile, parts of campus will be a little messy and noisy, especially for students living in university housing close to the new Baker Center site.

“We’re really excited about the Baker Center’s new location on Cumberland Avenue,” Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Tim Rogers said. “The university and the construction company have developed a plan to minimize the noise and traffic impact on the academic and living environment, and we’re confident that when the Baker Center is completed, it will be one of the best academic facilities on campus, well worth the temporary inconvenience during the construction.

“The improvements to Glocker and the Stadium also will be welcome and will benefit us all,” Rogers said.
