UT Students to Perform in Annual All-Sing Competition
KNOXVILLE — University of Tennessee students will perform in the annual All-Sing choral music competition at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 and at 3 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building.
Eighteen student organizations will perform songs from plays and movies such as -Cats,- -42nd Street,- -Top Gun- and the -Muppet Show.-
Male and female soloists of the year will be named as well as awards for first, second and third place.
All-Sing began as a campus tradition in 1932 when it was known as -Song-Fest,- a singing competition initiated by the Young Men-s Christian Association and the All Students- Club. The All Campus Events committee, a member of the Central Program Council, now sponsors the event.
Tickets are $8 for students with a UT ID and $15 for the general public and can be purchased at the University Center-s Central Ticket Office at (865) 974-3381 and Tickets Unlimited at (865) 656-4444.
