Accounting Programs Rank in Top 20 Nationwide
KNOXVILLE –- The University of Tennessee’s accounting programs again are in the top 20 in the country among public universities, according to Public Accounting Report, one of the leading trade publications for the accounting profession.
The college’s undergraduate accounting program ranks 20th among public colleges in the U.S. while the college’s graduate program ranks No. 19.
“Being among the nation’s leading public programs reflects our program’s increased prominence and impact,” said Dan Murphy, head of the Department of Accounting and Information Management. More than 300 public and private schools in the U.S. have accounting programs; about half are accredited.
“Our accounting department recognizes the importance of teaching as a driver of success,” Murphy said. “Our commitment at all levels of study is confirmed by these rankings, which serve as a testament to our meeting the needs of our students.”
