Construction Work to Detour Traffic on ‘The Hill’
KNOXVILLE — A portion of Middle Way Drive on “the Hill” will close on Tuesday, July 10, as utility work begins for the construction of the Min Kao Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building. The road should reopen by Aug. 11.
UT Police will close Middle Way at the intersection of Middle Way and Lower Drive and at the intersection of Middle Way and Circle Drive. Vehicles that must access the closed area for loading, unloading and services will be assisted by police.
A detour has been worked out so KAT buses can deliver and pick up students from the top of the Hill. Traveling on Andy Holt Avenue, the bus route from the Agriculture campus will be as follows: right on Pat Head Summitt Street, left on Volunteer Boulevard, right on Cumberland Avenue, right on Circle Drive to top of the Hill, past the Walters Life Science Building, left on Phillip Fulmer Way, right on Andy Holt, left on Volunteer and back to the regular route.
