Architecture Professor Lectures at College of Architecture and Design Nov. 12
KNOXVILLE — Architecture professor Brian Ambroziak will lecture at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, in the McCarty Auditorium, Room 109, of the Art + Architecture Building.
Free and open to the public, this lecture is part of the Robert B. Church III Memorial Lecture Series organized each semester by the College of Architecture and Design.
“This lecture series provides a wonderful means, in addition to our regular external speakers, to hear more about the work of our own faculty as well,” said John McRae, dean of the College of Architecture and Design.
“Assistant Professor Brian Ambroziak is conducting an outstanding range of research and creative activity, and we look forward to this opportunity for him to share his work.”
Ambroziak’s research focuses on how shifts in human perception coupled with technological advances have altered the way in which people see, understand and imagine the world.
His presentation will investigate the possibility of the moving image to convey the phenomenological qualities of place and serve as an effective design tool for reclaiming the wandering lines of the urban experience.
Ambroziak has taught in the college for the past five years and has been a partner in the firm DESIGN BUREAU since 1998. He received his master’s degree in architecture from Princeton University and his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia.
Continuing architectural education credit can be earned at Ambroziak’s lecture.
The lecture series also is viewable over the Internet both live and in archive form. See the College of Architecture and Design’s Web site, www.arch.utk.edu.
