Lyons Honored for Printmaking
Beauvais Lyons, professor of art and self-appointed director of the Hokes Archives, recently won two awards for his printmaking.
He won a juror’s cash award from Prints U.S.A., a national competition held biennially at the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Mo. Lyons also won the Patricia Norman Award, a purchase award, from the 19th Los Angeles Printmaking Society National Competition. His print will be displayed in the collection of the University Art Museum of California State University, Los Angeles.
Lyons is also among 41 artists with work displayed in "New Prints: Autumn 2007" at the International Print Center New York Exhibitions. IPCNY is a non-profit institution devoted solely to the exhibition and understanding of fine art prints.
