Linda BeetsLinda Beets, an administrative assistant in Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, is the fall semester winner in the "Where in the World is Smokey?" challenge.

Beets was chosen during a drawing involving everyone who submitted photos or videos that were used on the Ready for the World Web site. Beets submitted a photo of herself wearing her Smokey shirt at the Biketoberfest at Daytona Beach, Fla., in October 2007. Her prize was an RCA Small Wonder digital video camcorder.

Linda Beets"Where in the World is Smokey?" is a challenge designed to allow students, faculty, staff and alumni to share their experiences with the campus community while drawing attention to the Ready for the World initiative. Participants request T-shirts, then agree to be photographed or videotaped while wearing them on their adventures. The photos and videos are then posted on the Ready for the World Web site (see http://www.utk.edu/readyfortheworld) and used in other campus promotions.

To date, Smokey has been spotted on six continents, in 16 states and in the District of Columbia. To view all the photos and learn how you can participate, go to http://whereintheworldissmokey.blogspot.com/. "Where in the World is Smokey" will continue this semester, and another video camera will be awarded.
