Search Committee Named for UT Knoxville Chancellor
The University of Tennessee has formed the search committee which will identify candidates for the chancellor position at UT Knoxville. The 20-member committee will be chaired by Dr. Harry (Hap) McSween, distinguished professor of planetary sciences. Committee members include Knoxville faculty, staff, students, trustees, alumni and community leaders.
The group will have its first meeting at the earliest date possible. A professional search firm likely will be involved. Following a period of national advertising and other recruiting efforts, the committee will screen applicants and determine candidates who will participate in an interview process. UT President John Petersen will select the final candidate from those recommended and present that individual to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
The full list of committee members is available at http://www.utk.edu/news/article.php?id=4399.
Petersen addressed the UT Faculty Senate Tuesday regarding the search and other topics. Archived video of the meeting is available here.
