KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Community Partnership Center (CPC) will host a public workshop on Thursday, April 17, to further discuss historic preservation efforts on UT’s Knoxville campus.

The workshop will be held in the Shiloh Room of the University Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Building on the foundation of discussions generated at the first workshop held in January, workshop participants will be invited to discuss specific recommendations related to preservation issues on campus.

The campus community is invited to participate in the workshop, as are alumni, residents of the Fort Sanders community and others interested in historic preservation.

Results of the workshop will help identify priorities and develop final recommendations for improving campus preservation policies and practices. Final recommendations will be incorporated into a report to be published this summer.

The Campus Heritage Project is made possible by a grant from the Getty Foundation, a unit of the J. Paul Getty Trust. The J. Paul Getty Trust is an international cultural and philanthropic institution devoted to the visual arts. The trust includes the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Getty Research Institute. Since 2002, the Getty Trust has funded preservation planning projects at 71 colleges and universities across the country, as well as surveys of hundreds of small liberal arts colleges.
