Tandy Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
David Tandy, head of the Classics Department and Distinguished Professor of Humanities, has been honored with a lifetime achievement award by the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS), which includes 31 states and three Canadian Provinces.
The "ovatio" was presented at the association’s annual meeting in Tucson last Friday, and was accompanied by a Latin encomium praising Professor Tandy for his distinguished scholarship, award-winning teaching, and expert service as volunteer manager of the CAMWS endowment that provides scholarships for classics teachers and students at all levels.
