KNOXVILLE — Videos and films produced by students in the School of Art at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will be shown at the annual Handheld Film Festival on Saturday.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Downtown West Regal Cinema. It is hosted by the Society of Media Art Students, a group established in February to organize and promote media art events.

More than 30 short videos and films will be shown during the two-hour program. The audience will be asked to evaluate the videos and films and vote for their favorites. Awards will be given to the best film, best video and best cutting edge, and the winners will be announced at the end of the show.

The Handheld Film Festival has taken place for more than 10 years. The public is invited, and admission is free.
